This goes with an earlier post of Plain Italian Cookies . These are just as good! This recipe has been around for many years. Ingredients:
1/4 cup sugar |
1/4 cup crisco shortening |
4 unbeaten eggs |
5 cups all purpose flour(unsifted) |
1 teaspoon baking powder |
2 teaspoons baking soda |
2 teaspoons cinnamon |
2 teaspoons cloves |
1 cup hershey's chocolate syrup |
1/4 cup cold coffee |
1 cup chopped toasted nuts |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. 2. Cream sugar and shortening, 3. Add unbeaten eggs - mix well. 4. Add the dry ingredients alternately with the chocolate syrup & coffee. 5. Fold in the nuts, mixing well 6. Bake for 12 - 15 minutes 7. Yield 8 dozen cookies! 8.
