This is definitely a great cake to serve company. It is tasty and everyone loves it! Ingredients:
3 cups all-purpose flour |
2 teaspoons baking powder |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1 cup butter or margarine |
2 cups sugar |
3 eggs, unbeaten |
1 cup milk |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
3/4 cup chocolate syrup |
1/2 teaspoon baking soda |
Directions:
1. Sift together flour, baking powder and salt. 2. Set aside. 3. Cream margarine and sugar. 4. Blend in eggs, milk and vanilla. 5. Add flour mixture and blend thoroughly. 6. Pour 2/3 of batter into greased tube pan. 7. Add syrup and baking soda to remaining batter and pour over white batter in pan. DO NOT MIX. 8. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. 9. Place a sheet of aluminum foil loosely on top of pan. 10. Continue baking for 25 minutes. 11. Cool completely before removing from pan. |
