CHOCOLATE ICE CREAM CONE CUPCAKES This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Evans Estate in Arlington, Texas in 1989. Ingredients:
1 box chocolate cake mix |
1-1/4 cups water |
1/2 cup oil |
3 eggs |
30 small flat bottom cones |
icing |
5 cups sifted powdered sugar |
3/4 cup shortening |
1/2 cup butter softened |
2-1/2 tablespoons milk |
1-1/4 teaspoon almond extract |
assorted sprinkles and candies |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350. 2. In large bowl combine first 4 ingredients according to cake mix package directions. 3. Fill each cone with about 2-1/2 tablespoons batter. 4. Place cones 3 apart on an ungreased baking sheet then bake 30 minutes and cool completely. 5. For icing beat all ingredients together in large bowl until smooth. 6. Ice each cupcake with about 1 tablespoon icing. 7. Before icing hardens decorate with candy and/or sprinkles then store in airtight container. |
