When the After School crowd drops in- this is the winning delight. Ingredients:
2 1/2 cups unbleached flour |
1 tsp baking powder |
1/2 tsp salt |
1 tsp cinnamon |
1 1/2 cups rolled oats |
1 cup chopped nuts |
1 cup shortening (part butter) |
1 1/4 cups liquid-type honey |
2 eggs, beaten |
2 sq. (2 oz) unsweetened chocolate, melted |
Directions:
1. Measure flour and baking powder, salt, and cinnamon. Stir well to blend. Ad oats and nuts. Mix well. 2. Cream shortening thoroughly. Add honey gradually, beating constantly. 3. Add flour mixture gradually, mixing with wooden spoon just enough to combine. 4. Drop mixture by teaspoonfulls 2 apart on greased baking sheets. 5. Bake at 325 degrees for 12 - 15 minutes 6. Makes approx 7 dozen |
