A quick and easy slice recipe that my mother gave to me many years ago. I made it without the nuts and it worked out fine. If you want to include the nuts I would suggest that peanuts or walnuts would work really well. Ingredients:
150 g butter |
1 cup sugar |
1 egg |
1 cup flour |
1 teaspoon baking powder |
1 tablespoon cocoa |
1/2 cup skim milk powder |
1 cup nuts, chopped |
1 cup coconut |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 180degrees Celsius. 2. Cream butter and sugar. 3. Add egg and beat well. 4. Add sifted dry ingredients, nuts and coconut. 5. Stir till combined. 6. Press into 20cm x 30cm sponge roll tin. 7. Bake 180 degress C for 25 - 30 minutes. 8. Cool, then ice with chocolate icing. |
