An interesting cookie that kids love Ingredients:
3/4 cup lard |
1/2 cup sugar |
1/4 cup brown sugar |
1 egg |
2 teaspoons vanilla |
1/2 teaspoon almond extract |
1 3/4 cups flour |
1/2 teaspoon baking powder |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1/2 cup finely chopped almonds |
3 -4 dozen chocolate rosettes (rosebuds) |
Directions:
1. Cream lard, beat in sugar. 2. Add eggs, and flavourings. 3. Mix dry ingredients and add. 4. Form into 1 inch balls. 5. Press each ball around a chocolate rosebud. 6. Bake 12 mins on an ungreased cookie sheet at 350F. |
