Crema Mexicana is a thick cream like a sour cream but sweeter and used in various desserts. This is an easy dessert drink that's great for kids as well as adults. For the adults, a bit of chocolate liqueur can be added if necessary. Read more . Its great without the alcohol though and better make an extra batch because sometimes one isn't enough! Ingredients:
8 ounces of crema mexicana or whipping cream, whipped to a thick consistency. |
4 envelopes of sugar substitute or sugar to taste (i use splenda) |
1 tb. of unsweetened cocoa powder |
Directions:
1. Place Crema Mexicana, stainless steel bowl and beaters in freezer for 1/2 hour before. 2. Whip the Crema Mexicana with a hand mixer until light and fluffy. 3. Slowly incorporate the cocoa powder and sugar substitute. 4. Serve in your favorite glasses. 5. Chill in freezer for 30 minutes. 6. Remove from freezer and let “thaw” for 10 minutes before serving. 7. Top with a little bit of the cream. |
