Rich, decadent and great all year long. I only make these at Christmas for my cookie exchange, but they are very popular and go very fast. Enjoy Ingredients:
1/4 cup butter softened |
1/4 cup shortening |
1/2 cup packed brown sugar |
1 cup all purpose flour |
2 cups chocolate chips |
topping |
2 eggs |
1 cup packed brown sugar |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
2 tablespoons flour |
1 teaspoon baking powder |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1 cup shredded coconut |
1 cup chopped pecans |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 then cream butter, shortening and sugar. 2. Blend in flour and press evenly into rectangular baking pan and bake 10 minutes then remove. 3. Place chocolate chips over base while hot then set aside. 4. Beat eggs then add remaining ingredients and mix thoroughly. 5. Spread topping over crust then bake 25 minutes and cool slightly then cut into bars. |
