Creamy mint center delight. Great for Christmas or St. Patrick's Day! Ingredients:
1 cup all-purpose flour |
1 cup sugar |
1/2 cup butter or 1/2 cup margarine, softened |
4 eggs |
1 1/2 cups hershey's syrup (16-ounce can) |
2 cups confectioners' sugar |
1/2 cup butter or 1/2 cup margarine, softened |
1 tablespoon water |
1/2-3/4 teaspoon mint extract |
3 drops green food coloring |
6 tablespoons butter or 6 tablespoons margarine |
1 cup hershey semi-sweet chocolate chips |
Directions:
1. Cake Layer:. 2. Heat oven to 350 degrees. 3. Grease rectangular pan, 13x9x2 inches. 4. In large mixer bowl combine flour,sugar,butter, eggs and syrup; beat until smooth. 5. Pour into prepared pan; bake 25 to 30 minutes or until top springs back when lightly touched. 6. Cool completely in pan. 7. Spread Mint Cream Center on cake; cover and chill. 8. Pour Chocolate Topping over chilled dessert. 9. Cover; chill at least 1 hour before serving. 10. Mint Cream Center:. 11. In small bowl combine all ingredients; beat until smooth. 12. Chocolate Topping:. 13. In small saucepan over very low heat melt butter and chocolate chips. 14. Remove from heat; stir until smooth. 15. Cool slightly. |
