Very good! Very rich! Careful how much you put in your bowl! Instead of topping this off with pecans because not everyone likes nuts, you could use coarsely chrushed oreo cookies. Ingredients:
1 18 1/2-ounce box devil's food cake mix |
3 3 1/2-ounce packages instant chocolate pudding mix |
2 cups whipping cream |
2 tablespoons confectioners' sugar |
chocolate-syrup, any variety, for garnish |
1 cup chopped pecans, lightly toasted |
Directions:
1. Prepare the cake mix according to package directions and bake in a 13 by 9-inch pan. Let it cool thoroughly, then cut the cake into cubes 2. about the size of walnuts. 3. Prepare the chocolate pudding according to package directions. 4. In a medium bowl, whip the cream with the sugar until stiff. 5. To assemble: In a trifle bowl, layer half the chocolate cake cubes, 6. pudding, whipped cream, chocolate sauce or syrup and nuts. Repeat, 7. layering the remaining ingredients, ending with whipped cream and 8. nuts. Drizzle decoratively with chocolate sauce or syrup. |
