Sweet treats for a sweet tooth - really easy to make and great as a light snack! Ingredients:
158 ml unsifted flour |
1/2 teaspoon baking powder |
225 ml sugar |
1/4 teaspoon salt |
80 ml butter |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
2 eggs |
2 unsweetened chocolate squares |
118 ml chopped raisins |
60 ml chopped nuts (optional) |
Directions:
1. Mix flour, baking powder and salt together in a bowl. 2. Melt butter and chocolate in a double boiler. 3. In a large mixing bowl, beat eggs well. Add sugar to the eggs gradually, beating the mixture after each addition. 4. Add the raisins and vanilla to the egg mixture. 5. Add the flour, baking powder and salt to the egg mixture. Stir in the nuts, if using them. 6. Preheat oven to 175°C. 7. Grease a square cookie sheet. Pour the dough in, taking care to level it out. 8. Bake for 25 minutes, until it turns a golden brown. Cool before cutting into bars. |
