This is a Jean Pare recipe ( from Company's Coming ). I loved these squares growing up and now our children are enjoying them as well. Great for children's parties! Ingredients:
1/4 c butter |
1/2 c smooth peanut butter |
1 c chocolate chips ( or you can use butterscotch chips ) |
4 c mini marshmallows ( or 250 g bag of mini marshmallows ) |
Directions:
1. Melt butter & peanut butter in a saucepan over low heat. 2. Stir in chocolate chips until melted. 3. Remove from heat and stir in 1 c marshmallows until melted. ( I don't add in the marshmallows here, I wait until the mix is cooled and add in all of the marshmallows then ). 4. Allow to cool until you can touch the bottom of the saucepan ( about 20-25 minutes for me ) 5. Stir in remaining marshmallows until well coated. 6. Pack into a 9 x 9 inch pan ( baking paper lined ). 7. Refridgerate and cut into squares. 8. In Canada we used to use mini coloured marshmallows but here in Australia we only have mini pink/white marshmallows so we use them :o) |
