Just tried out cholena's cake base(using mayo)...thought of giving surprise to my hub,on his special day.... Ingredients:
2 1/4 c flour , 1 c cocoa pwd , 2 1/4 tsp baking soda , 1 1/4 tsp baking pwd , 1/2 tsp salt and 1/2 tsp cinnamon pwd - sifted |
2 1/2 oz chocolate |
1 c milk |
1 1/4 c hot strong coffee ( i got from the dwnstair coffee shop - kopi o kosong ) |
1 c mayo ( real stuff and not the salad dressing or low fat one ) |
2 eggs |
1 1/2 tsp vanilla |
2 1/4 c or abit less sugar |
filling |
cream cheese+sugar 2tsp |
topping |
1/2oz whipping cream,5oz choc.bar(vanhouten),milk melted&poured warm |
sprinkle |
chocolate vermicelli |
Directions:
1. Pre heat oven at 180 deg C . 2. Grease 3 - 8 inch pans . 3. ............................................ 4. Mocha : 5. Simmer the milk and pour it over the chocolate along with the HOT coffee . 6. Whisk until smooth . 7. Set aside . 8. ............................ 9. Beat the eggs , mayo , vanilla . 10. Add the sugar slowly . 11. Alternately add the mocha and dry ing . 12. Beat until smooth and well mixed . 13. Pour in 3- 9 inch greased baking pan and bake for 25 to 30 mins . 14. Leave it in the pan for awhile and turn it . 15. Cool completely . 16. ........................................... 17. Assemble : 18. Place a cake layer on serving plate . 19. Spread the the filling evenly . 20. place the next layer 21. - 22. pour the topping mixture bit warm...&sprinkle... |
