These cookies are decadent and so good. I got them from a Bon Appetit magazine several years ago and make these every Christmas for my cookie exchange. So good, hope you enjoy as much as I do. Ingredients:
1-1/4 cups all purpose flour |
1/2 teaspoon baking soda |
1/8 teaspoon salt |
3/4 cup packed brown sugar |
1/2 cup unsalted butter at room temperature |
4 teaspoons grated orange peel |
1 teaspoon vanilla extract |
1 large egg |
9 ounces bittersweet chocolate cut into chunks |
1-1/2 cups hazelnuts toasted husked and chopped |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 375. 2. Combine flour, baking soda and salt in medium bowl then whisk to blend. 3. Beat brown sugar, butter, peel and vanilla extract in large bowl until light and fluffy. 4. Beat in egg then add flour mixture and mix just until combined. 5. Mix in chocolate chunks and toasted hazelnuts. 6. Drop batter by heaping tablespoonfuls onto 2 ungreased baking sheets 2” apart. 7. Bake cookies until just firm to touch and beginning to brown about 13 minutes. 8. Transfer to racks and cool. |
