Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies |

These are my favorite cookies. I found the recipe on the back of the Quaker Oats canister. Ingredients:
1 cup butter |
1 cup brown sugar, packed |
1/2 cup granulated sugar |
2 eggs |
2 tablespoons milk |
2 teaspoons vanilla |
1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour |
1 teaspoon baking soda |
1/2 teaspoon salt (optional) |
2 1/2 cups oats |
2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips |
1 cup nuts, chopped (optional) |
Directions:
1. Heat oven to 375* 2. In a large bowl, beat butter and sugars until creamy. Add eggs, milk, and vanilla; beat well. Add flour, baking soda, and salt; mix well. Add oats, chocolate chips, and nuts if desired; mix well. 3. Drop dough by rounded tablespoonsful onto ungreased cookie sheet. 4. Bake 9 to 10 minutes for a chewy cookie or 12 to 13 minutes for a crisp cookie. Cool. Store tightly covered. |
