1/2 cup chopped nuts are optional. Makes about 36-48 cookies. For Bar Cookies...Spread the cookie dough into greased 9 x 13-inch pan. Bake at 375 for 15-20 minutes. Cut into pieces approximately 1 1/2-inch squares. For Sugar Cookies...Just leave out the chocolate chips and nuts. Bake the same. Ingredients:
2 cups all-purpose flour |
1 tsp. baking soda |
1/2 tsp. salt |
1/2 cup butter, softened |
1/2 cup shortening |
1/2 cup granulated sugar |
3/4 cup packed brown sugar |
1 tsp. vanilla extract |
1 egg |
12 oz. of semi-sweet chocolate chips |
Directions:
1. Preheat the oven to 375. 2. In a small bowl, combine flour, baking soda, and salt; set aside. 3. In large bowl, combine butter, shortening, sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla; beat until creamy. 4. Beat in egg. 5. Gradually add flour mixture and mix well. 6. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts with a wooden spoon, mix well. 7. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls 2-inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 6-10 minutes. Check after 5 minutes (some ovens vary-mine is 6 minutes). 8. Cool on cookie sheet for about 2 minutes. Remove to rack and cool completely. |
