This recipe is from an old cookbook titled Homemade Cookies Cook Book . I made this recipe for my church and they asked for more. I doubled the recipe and made it in a 9x13 pan. With a dark pan at high altitude I generally lower the oven temp by 25 degrees and plan on baking for a bit longer. You don't want to center real jiggly when you remove it from the oven. Ingredients:
1/2 cup softened butter |
3/4 cup packed brown sugar |
1 egg |
1 tablespoon milk |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
1 cup all-purpose flour |
1/2 teaspoon baking powder |
1/8 teaspoon baking soda |
1/8 teaspoon salt |
6 ounces semisweet chocolate pieces |
Directions:
1. Grease or spray a 9x9x2 baking pan. Preheat oven to 350. Cream butter and sugar. Add egg, milk, and vanilla; beat well. Stir together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Add to creamed mixture; beat well. Stir in chocolate chips. Spread in prepared pan. Bake at 350 for 30-35 minutes. Cool; cut into bars. |
