A wonderful dessert that everyone will enjoy!! Easy to make and very easy on the palate!! Ingredients:
1 cup flour |
1/2 cup packed brown sugar |
1/3 cup cold butter |
1/2 cup nuts, chopped |
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened |
1/2 teaspoon vanilla |
1/2 cup sugar |
1/3 cup cocoa |
1/4 cup milk |
1 egg |
1/2 cup candied cherry, chopped |
candied red cherries, cut in half |
Directions:
1. Combine flour, brown sugar, and butter in mixing bowl. Blend on low speed to form fine crumbs. (2-3 minutes). Stir in nuts. Reserve 3/4 cup crumb mixture for topping. 2. Press remaining crumb mixture into ungreased 9-inch square. Bake at 350F for 10 minutes or until lightly browned. 3. Meanwhile, combine cream cheese, sugar, cocoa, milk, egg and vanilla in a small bowl. Beat until smooth. Fold in cherries. Spread mixture over warm crust. Sprinkle with reserved crumb mixture. Garnish with cherry halves. 4. Return to oven and continueto bake until lightly browned and filling is set, about 15 minutes. Cool. 5. Cut into squares. |
