1 1/2 cups sugar |
1/2 cup shortening |
2 eggs |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
2 melted chocolate squares |
2 cups flour |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1 teaspoon baking soda |
1/2 cup maraschino cherry, chopped |
1/2 cup nuts, chopped |
1 cup cold water |
Directions:
1. Cream together sugar, shortening, eggs and vanilla. 2. Stir in melted chocolate. 3. Add dry ingredients alternately with water. 4. Stir in cherries and nuts. 5. Pour into a greased and floured 9x13 inch cake pan. 6. Bake at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes. |
