This is a recipe that takes a little time because you are making your caramel... the recipe and photo are from the Florida Food councils recipes..... to make this Gluten Free use a GF Pie crust Ingredients:
3/4 cup brown sugar |
1/2 cup butter |
1/2 cup honey |
2 tablespoons sugar |
1/2 cup heavy cream |
2 cups pecans, toasted and chopped |
1 cup dark chocolate chips |
1 pie crust, pre-baked in a pie pan or short tart pan |
Directions:
1. Combine the first 4 ingredients in a heavy-bottom sauce pot and heat mixture until it reaches 240 degrees F on a candy thermometer. Remove from heat and stir in heavy cream, toasted pecans, and chocolate chips. 2. Fill baked pie shell and bake for 25-30 minutes in a 350-degree F oven. 3. Let cool completely before slicing. |
