A recipe passed down from generation to generation in my boyfriend's family. This recipe was given to me by his mother. A wonderful treat for everyone of all ages! For best results, you should make the icing homeade, but it's just as delicious with Pillsbury's icing. Ingredients:
1 (18 ounce) box chocolate cake mix (duncan hines preferred) |
3 eggs (or as called for by your cake mix) |
1/3 cup oil (or as called for by your cake mix) |
1 1/3 cups water (or as called for by your cake mix) |
1 (15 ounce) jar vanilla frosting (pillsbury's preferred) |
2 tablespoons peanut butter |
1/3 cup whole milk |
Directions:
1. Follow directions on the back of the cake mix box. 2. Bake the cake as directed. 3. When cake is finished, let cool until room-temperature. 4. Stir in 2 Tbsp peanut butter into the jar of vanilla icing. 5. Add 1/3 cup of milk to thin it out a little. 6. Stir until mixed well. 7. Ice the cake with the peanut butter icing. 8. Enjoy! |
