This is one of those recipes you make when you don't have a lot of groceries. I had each of these ingredients in the pantry and I bet you will too. We served it warm with Cool Whip, but next time I'm serving with vanilla ice cream. Remember, it will be runny! Ingredients:
3/4 cup sugar |
1/2 cup sugar |
1 cup sifted flour |
1/4 teaspoon salt |
2 teaspoons baking powder |
2 tablespoons cocoa |
1/4 cup cocoa |
1/2 cup milk |
3 tablespoons melted butter, cooled |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
1/2 cup brown sugar |
1 1/2 cups water |
Directions:
1. Sift 3/4 cup sugar, flour, salt, baking powder and 2 tablespoons of cocoa together into a 9 inch square baking pan. Stir in milk, butter and vanilla. Spread batter evenly in pan. In a small bowl, mix 1/2 cup sugar, brown sugar and 1/4 cup cocoa and sprinkle over batter. Pour water over all (don't mix!) and bake at 350 for 45 minutes or until top springs back when slightly touched. Serve warm. |
