Moist and chocolatey Ingredients:
1/2 cup butter-melted |
1 cup sugar |
2 eggs-room temperature |
1 teaspoon vanilla extract |
1 1/2 cup all-purpose flour |
1/2 cup baking cocoa |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1/2 teaspoon baking powder |
1/2 teaspoon baking soda |
1 cup buttermilk-room temperature |
1/2 cup chopped pecans |
1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. 2. Cream melted butter and sugar until well combined. 3. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. 4. Add vanilla. 5. Combine flour minus one tablespoon, salt, cocoa, baking powder, and baking soda. Add to butter mixture alternating with buttermilk. Mix well after each addition but do not overmix. 6. Combine remaining tablespoon flour with chopped pecans and chocolate chips. 7. Stir into batter. 8. Pour batter into greased 9 x 5 loaf pan. 9. Bake on center rack for 55 minutes to 1 hour. 10. Cool in pan for 10 minutes then turn out onto wire rack to cool completely. 11. Sprinkle with powdered sugar or add your favorite glaze. 12. Bread can also be served warm. |
