simple chocolate bonbons that didn't last very long in my house Ingredients:
1 14oz can of sweetened condensed milk |
1/4 cup sifted baking cocoa |
1 tbsp butter |
1/4 tsp salt |
1/2 -3/4 cup multi-colored or chocolate sprinkles |
cooking spray |
wax paper |
Directions:
1. *put wax paper on a cookie sheet and set aside 2. *In a medium saucepan, put condensed milk and cocoa in and put on medium-low heat. Stir constantly for about 10 to 15 minutes or until the mixture starts to pull from the sides (it took me a little longer than 20 minutes, but I was scared of burning the mixture, lol) 3. *Remove from the burner and add the butter and salt, stir until thoroughly mixed. At this stage, you can add some kind of flavor extract like hazelnut, almond, mint, whatever. Let this mixture cool for about 20 minutes. 4. *with a teaspoon or a small melon baller, start scooping out the mixture (about an inch in size) and place on the prepared cookie sheet. Place in the refridgerator and cool for 30 minutes. 5. *Get a small bowl and put sprinkles in it. Spray hands with the cooking spray then shape the bonbons, you might have to respray a few times. Roll them in the sprinkles or whatever you would like (chopped nuts, powdered sugar, whatever). 6. You can keep these for about 5 days in an airtight container, but why they would last that long is beyong me,lol. 7. makes about 2 1/2 dozen, give or take. |
