A satisfying casserole dish Ingredients:
1 cup celery, diced |
1 cup onion, finely diced |
2 tablespoons vegetable oil |
2 tablespoons flour |
2 cups milk |
1/4 teaspoon pepper |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
2/3 cup grated mild cheese, of your choice |
1/2 lb chipped beef |
1/2 cup chopped ripe olives |
2/3 cup soft breadcrumbs |
2 tablespoons melted butter |
Directions:
1. Cook celery and onion in oil until soft. 2. Stir in flour. 3. Add milk and cook, stirring constantly, until thickened. 4. Remove from heat and add pepper, salt, cheese, beef, and olives. 5. Put into a casserole dish. 6. Mix bread crumbs and butter. 7. Sprinkle on top of casserole. 8. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 to 30 minutes. 9. Serve with buttered noodles. |
