Char Sui spare ribs: a poster wrote about this recipe from online recipe group: Ever wished you could eat those rich, red, spareribs at home that you always order at the Chinese restaurant? Here they are! Ingredients:
1 1/2 lb spareribs |
1/4 c brown sugar |
2 t red bean curd sauce or paste |
1/4 c honey |
1/2 tsp 5-spice powder |
1 tsp salt |
2 t sherry ( or whiskey) |
1 tsp red food coloring |
1 crushed garlic clove |
Directions:
1. Place spareribs into large pan. 2. Combine remaining ingredients; pour over spareribs and marinate overnight, turning once. 3. Put spareriabs in roasting pan and bake in oven at 325F for 30 minutes. 4. Turn spareriabs, baste with remaining marinade. 5. Continue baking for 30 more minutes. 6. Special Notes: Some Chinese cooks will use a whiskey instead of Sherry. |
