拍黄瓜 Chinese Smacked Cucumber Salad |

I don't like cucumbers, but smacking them is delicious :-) This helps absorb the flavours of chilli, garlic, rice vinegar and sesame oil. Ingredients:
1 green cucumber |
chili flakes |

3 cloves garlic, crushed |
2 tbsp. light soy sauce |
2 tbsp. vinegar |
2 drops sesame oil |
pinch of salt |
pinch of sugar |
Directions:
1. Mix A in a large bowl and set aside. 2. Chop off the ends of cucumber; lay cucumber on a chopping board. Hold blade of a cleaver flat against cucumber. Give cleaver a whack, so that cucumber bursts. Don’t turn it to mush. 3. Slice cucumber and mix well with A. 4. Pepper with chili flakes to taste and serve. |
