A basic orange chicken recipe. Add your favourite veggies to make it go further, if you like. Red peppers are a nice choice. Ingredients:
4 boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut into cubes |
1 garlic clove, minced |
1 slice ginger, minced |
1 tablespoon dry sherry |
1/2 tablespoon cornstarch |
1/3 cup orange juice |
2 tablespoons dark soy sauce |
1 teaspoon sesame oil |
1 teaspoon brown sugar |
1/4 teaspoon chili paste |
Directions:
1. Place the cubed chicken in a bowl with the marinade ingredients for 30 minutes. 2. While the chicken is marinating, prepare the sauce ingredients. 3. When the chicken is nearly ready, heat the wok and add a bit of oil. 4. Throw in the garlic and ginger and stir-fry until aromatic. 5. Add the chicken and stir-fry until it changes color. 6. Push up to the sides of the wok, making a well in the middle. 7. Add the sauce. 8. Mix the sauce and the chicken together. 9. Stir-fry for another minute and serve hot. |
