This is a recipe that I found in my Mom's recipe collection - I have not tried it, but wanted to share it with you - Ingredients:
1/4 cup oil |
2 -2 1/2 lbs broiling chicken, cut up |
1/2 cup cornstarch |
1 teaspoon salt |
1/2 teaspoon msg |
1/4 teaspoon pepper |
1/2 teaspoon sugar |
1/4 cup soy sauce |
2 tablespoons sherry wine |
2 green peppers, diced |
2 onions, sliced |
1 (9 ounce) can crushed pineapple |
bamboo shoot, drained |
1 (4 ounce) can water chestnuts, drained and sliced |
1 (8 ounce) can bean sprouts |
2 tablespoons brown sugar |
Directions:
1. Heat oil in a large skillet. Dip chicken parts in mixture of cornstarch, salt, MSG, pepper and sugar. Brown all sides. 2. Add soy sauce and wine; cover and cook for 10 minutes. Remove chicken and set aside. 3. Mix together all remaining ingredients in the skillet and cook over high heat for 1 minute. Place chicken on top, cover and lower heat and cook for 10 minutes longer. |
