From an old WDFF cookbook... Ingredients:
5 tablespoons flour |
1 pinch salt |
1 lb dates, chopped |
1 teaspoon vanilla essence |
2 teaspoons baking powder |
1 cup walnuts, chopped |
3/4 cup sugar |
3 eggs |
confectioners' sugar, to taste |
Directions:
1. Sift flour, baking powder, and salt twice. 2. Add oher ingredients and mix well together. 3. Bake in a shallow greased tin for 30 minutes at 375 deg F. 4. When cooked, sprinkle well with icing sugar. 5. Cut into fingers when cool. |
