This recipe came from my mom and its real simple and tastes very, very good. Ingredients:
2 (7 ounce) cans of ortega diced green chilies |
2 (4 ounce) cans of ortega whole green chilies |
1 lb monterey jack cheese, grated |
1 dozen egg |
1 (8 ounce) can evaporated milk |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven 375. 2. 13x9 baking dish place a layer of the whole green chillies on the bottom. You must split them in half. 3. Sprinkle a thin of cheese on top of whole chillies. 4. Next layer will the diced green chillies. 5. Repeat layers of diced chillies and cheese making sure the cheese is the last layer. 6. In a large mixing bowl, beat eggs and evaporated milk. 7. Pour mixture over the casserole. 8. Place it in oven and let bake 35-40 minute. |
