This is my take on chili. I love adding beans even though real chili ommits them. I also use picante tomato sauce to make it hot but not unbearably hot. Ingredients:
1 1/2 lbs ground beef |
3 garlic cloves, minced |
1/2 medium onion (about the size of a handball) chopped |
1/2 large red pepper, chopped |
1 tbs chili powder |
1 small tomato, chopped |
1 can goya seasoned tomato sauce (hot) |
1 (15.5 oz) can pink beans, drained |
1/2 cup water |
salt and pepper to taste |
Directions:
1. Brown ground beef in a pot then drain all fluid. 2. Return ground beef to stove and stir in garlic, onions, and red pepper cooking until veggies are tender. 3. Stir in chili powder 4. Mix in chopped tomatoes and add can of tomato sauce. 5. Stir in drained pink beans and add 1/2 cup water to make the chili a bit saucier. 6. Season with salt and pepper to suit your taste |
