Chili Rubbed Flank Steak With Onion Relish (South Beach Diet) |

This is a South Beach Diet recipe. Ingredients:
1 1/4 lbs flank steaks |
7 teaspoons lime juice |
2 1/2 teaspoons chili powder |
salt |
1 sweet onion, minced |
1/2 cup fresh cilantro, chopped |
Directions:
1. Rub steak with 2 t. lime juice and 2 t. chili powder, then sprinkle with salt. Let sit while you prepare the relish. 2. Combine onion, cilantro, remaining 5 t. of lime juice and 1/2 t. of chili powder. 3. Broil or grill steak about 7 minutes (medium-rare) per side until desired doneness. 4. Remove steak from heat and let sit at least 5 minutes (VERY IMPORTANT). 5. Cut steak at an angle against the grain. Serve topped with onion relish. |
