I found this recipe in a grocery store flyer. I found it very easy to make and very tasty. Ingredients:
1 lb lean ground beef |
1 tablespoon olive oil |
1 medium onion, chopped |
1 (26 ounce) jar marinara sauce |
1/2 cup water |
1 (14 ounce) can red kidney beans |
1 (14 ounce) can black beans |
1 garlic clove, finely chopped |
1 teaspoon cumin |
1 tablespoon chili powder |
4 bread boules (purchased) |
hot sauce or tabasco sauce |
salt & pepper |
4 ounces cheddar cheese, grated |
Directions:
1. Pour Olive Oil in large saucepan, brown Ground Beef over med heat. 2. Add Onion and Garlic, Cook until onion is soft (~5min). 3. Add Marinara Sauce and Water. 4. Bring to a boil then turn down to simmer and add Beans. Add salt, pepper, cumin and chili powder and simmer until mixture thickens. 5. OR. 6. Bring to a boil then transfer mixture to a Crock Pot. Add Beans, salt, pepper, cumin and chili powder and cook on high for 4 hours. 7. Add hot sauce if desired. 8. Serve in a bread bowl. 9. Top with grated Cheddar Cheese. 10. Enjoy! |
