Chili More Or Less From A Can |

This is a cheap chili (under $16.00) to make and most of the ingredients come from a can. Good to make if you're a student on a budget. Ingredients:
2 lb ground beef - $6.08 |
1 can kidney beans -$1.32 (796ml) |
2 cans diced tomatoes - $1.79 x2 (540ml) (preferably the type already made for chili) |
3 stalks of celery - $0.89 for an entire bunch |
2 packets of old el paso chili seasoning - $1.69 x2 |
1 large diced onion - $0.99 |
1 bottle of your favourite beer $1.50 (optional) |
with beer - $17.74 |
without beer - $15.74 |
Directions:
1. Brown the 2 lbs of beef in a frying pan 2. Chop up the celery and onions 3. Combine all ingredients in the slow cooker and mix thoroughly 4. Heat for 5-6 hours on Low or 3-5 hours on High 5. As it cooks taste periodically, if you want it spicier you can add chili powder or peppers 6. Add a spoonful of sour-cream and grated cheese on top and enjoy! |
