Ground beef and kidney beans are seasoned with garlic, oregano, cumin, and chili powder to make a chili that's packed with flavor. Ingredients:
1 large onion, finely chopped |
1 clove garlic, peeled and crushed |
2 teaspoons tomato paste |
2 tablespoons butter, cut into pieces |
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour |
1 teaspoon dried oregano, crushed |
1/2 teaspoon ground cumin |
1 1/2 teaspoons chili powder |
1 (14.5 ounce) can whole peeled tomatoes with liquid, chopped |
1 pound lean ground beef |
1 (15.25 ounce) can kidney beans, drained and rinsed |
salt to taste |
ground black pepper to taste |
Directions:
1. In a large skillet over medium heat, combine onion, garlic, and tomato paste. Cover and cook for 5 minutes. 2. Stir in butter until melted. Stir in flour, oregano, cumin, chili powder, tomatoes and beef. Cook uncovered for 8 minutes, stirring occasionally. 3. Stir in the beans and cook for another 4 minutes, stirring occasionally. Salt and pepper to taste. |
