The chili that eats like a meal. We love to eat this in the winter with a side of southern cornbread. Ingredients:
1 1/2 lbs hamburger |
1 onion, chopped |
1 bell pepper, chopped |
3 garlic cloves, chopped |
1 (28 ounce) can whole peeled tomatoes, chopped not drained |
1 (28 ounce) can kidney beans, drained |
1 (16 ounce) can tomato sauce |
4 -6 tablespoons chili powder |
salt |
pepper |
Directions:
1. Cook and drain hamburger in a large skillet. 2. Saute onion, bellpepper, garlic and chili powder for 5 minutes. 3. Add tomatoes and juice along with tomato sauce, salt and pepper. 4. Simmer 15 minutes until all vegetables are tender. 5. Remove from heat and top with sour cream or cheddar cheese. |
