These cheesy, spicy homemade croutons are easy to make and great as a topping for your favorite chili. Ingredients:
16 (1/2-inch-thick) french bread slices, cubed |
1/2 cup (2 ounces) finely shredded monterey jack cheese |
1/3 cup butter or margarine, softened |
2 1/2 teaspoons chili powder |
Directions:
1. Place baguette slices on a baking sheet. Bake at 375° for 5 minutes, turning slices once. 2. Stir together cheese, butter, and chili powder. Spread cheese mixture onto croutons. Bake at 375° for 7 more minutes. |
