This is a somewhat spicy chili recipe, although not too spicy. Goes great with a football game!
Ingredients:
1 lb lean ground beef
1 lb italian sausage (i like hot)
2 29 oz cans crushed tomatoes
1 (29 ounce) can tomato sauce
1 1/2 cups chopped onion
1/2 cup chopped celery
1/4 cup chopped green bell pepper
1/4 cup chili powder
2 teaspoons ground cumin
1 1/2 teaspoons garlic powder
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon white sugar
2 tablespoons ground cayenne pepper
2 cups canned red beans, drained and rinsed
Directions:
1. Place ground beef and sausage in a large, deep skillet or Dutch oven. Cook over medium-high heat until evenly brown. Drain, crumble, and set aside.
2. Add all ingredients to a large kettle. Bring to boil. Add meat and reduce heat to simmer for 1 to 1 1/2 hours, stirring occasionally.
