I found this recipe on back of the package of dried chick peas (garbnazo beans). We love it! It's so simple, yet flavorful. Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups chick peas |
3 quarts of water |
1 cup chopped tomatoes |
1/2 cup sliced ripe olives |
3 green onions, sliced, greens included |
1/2 cup italian salad dressing (either bottled or your own) |
Directions:
1. Soak the peas as directed on the package; drain. 2. In a deep pot, combine the peas and water. 3. Cover and simmer 2 1.2 to 3 hours until the peas are tender; drain. 4. In a medium bowl, combine the cooked peas and the remaining ingredients. 5. Cover and refrigerate for 2 to 3 hours; stirring occasionally. 6. Makes 8 3/4-cup servings. |
