Another traditional Romanian dish which is great served with a softer Mamaliga.Grandma made it this way,but new version of the recipe might use more veggies.My mom uses chicken cube in this,if you do so omit the salt. Ingredients:
2 chicken legs or 2 chicken breasts |
1 medium onion, finely chopped |
1/2 carrot, grated |
1 cup water |
400 -500 g sour cream |
2 tablespoons flour diluted in milk |
pepper, salt |
Directions:
1. Fry the chicken on both sides until it starts to brown. 2. Add the onion, the grated carrot and the water and let it cook for about 20 minutes or until all the liquid is absorbed. 3. Add the sour cream and stir. 4. Simmer for about 30 minutes. 5. Add salt, pepper and the flour dissolved in milk. 6. Cook for another 5 minutes and serve hot. |
