This is one of my family's favourite dishes,i got this recipe from a book that my mother in law gave me!Preparation doesn't take long,it'll take about an hour the most to prepare & cook! I recommend that everyone tries this,it is a VERY tasty,hearty dish,very comforting! Ingredients:
8 ounces cooked chicken, cubed |
6 ounces spaghetti |
6 ounces bacon, chopped |
1 red pepper, thinly sliced |
1 1/2 ounces butter or 1 1/2 ounces margarine |
1 1/2 ounces plain flour |
3/4 pint chicken stock |
3 ounces cheddar cheese |
salt and black pepper |
Directions:
1. Cook spaghetti in plenty of boling water until just tender. 2. Meanwhile fry bacon until crisp. 3. Add chicken & red pepper to pan with bacon,cook for 5 minutes. 4. Add the 'just cooked' spaghetti into pan and mix everything together. 5. In another pan,melt the butter,then blend in flour & cook for 2 minutes. 6. Gradually add the milk & stock,bring to the boil,stirring until thickened. 7. Stir in the cheese & season with salt & pepper. 8. Put the spaghetti mixture into an ovenproof dish & pour over the cheese sauce. 9. Place in oven 375 deg.F,190deg.C,Gas Mark 5, for 25 minutes. |
