A spicy traditional Indian dish, accompany with rice & salad. Ingredients:
1 lb boneless skinless chicken breast |
2 garlic cloves, crushed |
5 ounces plain yogurt |
1 tablespoon lemon juice |
1 teaspoon fresh gingerroot, grated |
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper |
1 teaspoon ground coriander |
1 teaspoon ground cumin |
1/2 teaspoon ground turmeric |
salt and pepper |
Directions:
1. Cut the chicken into 1in cubes and place in a shallow ovenproof dish. 2. Mix the garlic, yogurt, lemon juice, salt and pepper and spices and spread over the chicken. 3. Cover and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour. 4. Preheat the oven to 400°F. 5. Bake the chicken in the marinade for 35 minutes, turning once or twice during cooking. 6. Alternatively, thread the chicken on to skewers and cook under a preheated hot broiler for 15-20 minutes. 7. Serve with rice and salad. |
