This is a recipe i came up with few yrs back. This makes quite a bit.A nice n hardy dish that is great the 1st time, n good left over. Ingredients:
3 chicken breast |
4 c water |
whole onion peeled |
basil few sprinkles |
can evaporated milk |
4-5 cups diced potatoes cooked |
sliced baby carrots cooked(use as many as you want) |
7 or 8 chicken boulion cubes |
2 can of biscuits |
Directions:
1. Add water, chicken, onion, basil n chicken boulion into large pot, bring to boil n them reduce heat n simmer 1-11/2 hours. Remove chicken n set aside. Remove onion n discard. To broth in pan add a mixture of flour n water, to thicken to gravy constincey (I usually use 11/2 c water with about 1c flour), whisk in to avoid lumps. Add evaporated milk ncook until nice n thick. Cube Chicken add to broth mixture, add cooked vegetables. Pour into a large baking pan. Top with large biscuits. Bake 425 degrees, when tops of biscuits are browned turn over n brown other side. 2. I use the left over filling to make chicken pot pies. 3. You can also add peas or any vegetables that you would like. |
