Chicken Sesame Open Sandwich |

This is from yesterday's Thursday magazine. It was submitted by Zakia Mirza. Ingredients:
1/2 kg chicken |
10 slices bread, large |
1 medium potato, boiled and mashed |
1 medium onion, chopped |
1 medium tomato, chopped |
1/2 cup green peas, boiled and mashed |
1/2 cup sesame seeds |
1 cup spring onion, chopped |
1/2 cup cheese, grated |
1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste, freshly made in mixer |
1 tablespoon hot sauce |
red chili powder, to taste |
4 -6 egg whites |
salt |
ghee or oil, to fry |
1 teaspoon garam masala powder |
Directions:
1. Boil the chicken with onion, tomato, ginger-garlic paste and salt till tender. 2. Once cool, de-bone (remove the bones) the chicken. 3. Grind it. 4. Put the ground chicken in a bowl. 5. Add the mashed peas, potato, cheese, garam masala, red chilli powder, hot sauce and salt. 6. Mix well. 7. Heat ghee/oil in a pan. 8. Add spring onions. 9. Stir-fry till soft. 10. Add the chicken mixture. 11. Stir-fry for 4-5 minutes. 12. Remove into a bowl. 13. Keep for 3 minutes. 14. Now take a slice of bread and thinly spread the mixture on it. 15. Cut the brown edges of the bread. 16. Cut the bread into triangular shape. 17. Put sesame seeds on top of the bread. 18. Heat oil/ghee in a wok. 19. Dip the bread slices in egg white. 20. Deep fry. 21. Drain excess oil on clean paper kitchen napkins. 22. Serve with salad (lots of cucumber)/tomato ketchup. 23. Enjoy! |
