From a little Polish Cookbook. Serve over dumplings or egg noodles. Ingredients:
1 chicken, cut up |
1 small onion, chopped |
1 cup water (or broth) |
1 cup sour cream |
2 tablespoons shortening or 2 tablespoons butter |
1 cup sweet cream |
1 tablespoon paprika |
salt & pepper, to taste |
Directions:
1. Saute onion in butter (or shortening), adding seasoning. 2. Brown chicken for 15 minutes. 3. Add water (or broth) and cover. Simmer for 1 hour - 'til tender. 4. Remove chicken to serving platter. 5. Mix well sour cream with drippings in pan. 6. Adjust seasoning, adding sweet cream and heat. Do not boil. 7. Serve on dumplings or kluski (egg noodles). |
