This stew is thicker than a soup and likely to be eaten along with main course , like string hopper or crusty bread . Stewing makes the meat to become tender and juicy with the slow moist heat method .
Ingredients:
1 onion , sliced
2 tsp ginger garlic paste
3 green chillies , finely chopped
1 tsp red chilli powder
2 tsp corriander pwd
1 tsp meat curry pwd
300 gm chicken with bones
1 potato or carrot , sliced
or
vege of ur choice : peas , french beans , carrot , potatoes
or
4 big potatoes and / or hard boiled eggs
3 tbsp low fat evaporated milk ( or thick coconut milk )
1 to 2 c water
2 tbsp double cream ( or thick coconut milk )
1/2 tsp cinnamon pwd
2 cardamom , powdered
2 cloves
Directions:
1. Fry the onions , paste , chillies . and the pwds until raw smell disappears .
2. Add the chicken , vegetable , milk and water .
3. Check the salt .
4. Simmer for 20 mins .
5. Add the cream and the spices .
6. Remove once it starts to boil .
