A tomato based BBQ that is good on a bun, or a baked potato Ingredients:
1 lb beef (chuck or stew beef) |
1 tablespoon oil |
1 medium onion |
1/2 cup ketchup |
1 tablespoon prepared mustard |
1/2 cup water |
1/4 teaspoon chili powder |
1/2 teaspoon paprika |
2 tablespoons brown sugar |
2 tablespoons vinegar |
1/4 teaspoon salt |
1/4 teaspoon pepper |
Directions:
1. Cook onion in oil, add ketchup, vinegar, mustard, water, chili powder, paprika, brown sugar, salt and pepper and simmer for 15 min. 2. Cover beef with water, add 4-5 bay leaves. 3. Simmer until it can be pulled apart with fork. 4. Serve on bun. 5. Pork or chicken can be used. 6. Can be frozen. 7. Note: I use chicken. 8. I cook the sauce in the crockpot, add the cooked chicken at the beginning, and cook it on low for about 6 hours. |
