Chicken on a stick is a State Fair food that has found its way onto restaurant menus. But, it's an easy treat to make at home. Enjoy! Ingredients:
bonless skinless chicken breasts |
onions |
bell peppers |
wooden skewers |
batter |
4 cups all purpose flour |
1 tsp paprika |
1 tbs baking powder |
3 cans beer |
2 tsp grandulated garlic |
2 tsp salt |
2 tsp black pepper |
4 dashes louisiana hot sauce |
oil for deep frying |
Directions:
1. Cut chicken breast into cubes about 1 1/2 inches 2. Peel and quarter onions. separate into layers of about 3 rings 3. Cut bell pepper into pieces about same size as chicken 4. Skewer piece of chicken, onion, bellpepper and repeat about two more times. 5. Heat oil to 350 - 360 degrees 6. Combine all ingredients for batter. 7. Dip skewered chicken, onions, pepppers into batter and fry 3 or 4 minutes, until light golden. |
