This is the ultimate of comfort foods- when you're feeling sick or a little down, this chicken noodle soup is sure to make you feel better. My Mom's recipe and a personal favorite for my entire family. Hope it becomes your family's favorite too! Ingredients:
1 whole broiler-fryer chicken |
1 onion, cut into large chunks |
6 carrots, peeled and cut into 1-inch chunks |
4 stalks celery, cut into 1-inch chunks |
1 (10 ounce) can cream of chicken soup |
chicken bouillon granule (we use about 2 t.) |
1 (6 ounce) package wide egg noodles |
Directions:
1. Put fryer chicken into stock pot and cover with water. Bring to a boil and boil for 15-20 minutes, until meat is done. 2. Remove chicken and set aside. 3. Add onion, celery and cream of chicken soup to water. Stir to incorporate soup. Cook over medium heat. 4. After chicken cools slightly, remove meat from chicken and return to pot. 5. Bring to a boil. 6. Add carrots and boullion granules (to taste) and cook for 5 minutes. 7. Add noodles and cook per package directions. 8. Enjoy! 9. Great as leftovers too! |
